Butcher's Building and Los Caños Fountain

Built in the 18th Century, it was erected for the public Butchers of the city. In its neoclassical façade, one can observe the coat of arms of two “twenty four” knights: Pedro Esteban and Agustín Marín. Under the building, there are remains of the Arab Baths called “Del Naranjo”.
The building was restaured and reopened in 2021, so its patio and other rooms can be visited. There are temporary exhibition upstairs.
In front of the Butcher’s building, one can see the monumental Fountain of Los Caños, finished by Francisco Del Castillo in 1569. This date is engraved in one of the building placards. Rebuilt in 1648, the building has Renaissance origins.
